I can only speak to the Native foam riser...I don't float w/o it. It doesn't force the pan against the rails so tight that you lose the slide...

Thanks guys. The lure is actually a Cabelas "Real Image" in Alewife color for $6.99. Looks just like an Alewife or Blueback and has great action....
